Innovative design, development and testing

Capabilities

Advanced Development Tools

Our engineers develop technologies that shorten product design and development cycles by using a range of advanced development tools. The ability to design and test analytically reduces the need for prototype vehicles.

We use:

  • Computer-based virtual development of full systems
  • Virtual prototyping
  • Virtual manufacturing
  • Multi-body system simulation
  • Virtual tuning
  • Knowledge-based manufacturing & engineering (KBME) process

Customized Solutions

Our solutions differentiate our customers’ vehicles.  We anticipate customer needs and respond quickly with innovative and practical solutions.

We work collaboratively with customers to identify risks and challenges early in the development process. Through the use of predictive tools, we provide options to meet customer targets and ensure system optimization.

Knowledge-Based Manufacturing & Engineering Process

In 2008, we were an Automotive News PACE finalist for the Tenneco Knowledge-Based Manufacturing & Engineering (TEN-KBME) process.

This innovation enables our design engineers to work virtually across projects to share expertise, foster problem-solving, and improve the efficiency and quality of product development. It continuously captures and updates knowledge gleaned from Tenneco’s most successful production and design processes. It uses predictive modeling based on best practices and allows engineering teams to prepare detailed plans in a matter of hours.
