Ian Ellaby

Ian Ellaby

Position: Application Engineering Manager, Ride Control Europe

Location: Europe OE RC, Sint Truiden, Belgium

With Tenneco Since: 1996

Job Description: Manages original equipment ride control programs

Ian is motivated by the people around him and enjoys the challenge of launching new products. With a strong team, Ian helps bring everyone's ideas together to achieve optimal results.

What has made you successful?
Determination and perseverance have helped me succeed. I have learned to be goal oriented from the Tenneco mentors I've had over the years.

What separates Tenneco from its competitors?
When we work with customers, we are always willing to go the extra mile to deliver superior performance.

What motivates you in terms of your role at Tenneco?
I like working with a large team, as I do on a daily basis. Before coming to Sint Truiden, I was based in the United Kingdom and working in a small group; this change has broadened my perspective.

What is the best advice you can share with us?
Be honest, open, and respectful. Do not be afraid to ask questions; it makes a big difference. Communicating with this perspective allows you to become integrated with people you work with.

What is one thing your colleagues don't know about you?
I have cycled across the United States twice - the first time was in 1990 then again in 1993. I started in San Diego, California and four weeks later, I reached Baltimore, Maryland. Both trips were great adventures; I'm proud I accomplished this goal.
