More on Launch Excellence
Operating in an open and transparent manner with our customers builds strong relationships. Our structured launch process helps with that by driving an intense focus on the customer’s needs.
We have executed our launches with unrivaled quality by building a fully integrated supply chain, from our customers down through our component suppliers. Launch excellence contributes to quality product delivered when the customer needs it.

+Long-Term Suppliers
The primary task of supply chain is the continuity of the supply of parts to our manufacturing operations. Long-term supplier relationships like we have with Pridgeon & Clay, a metal stampings company, help us facilitate that continuity as well as the rapid design of products and launching of programs.

More on Long-Term Suppliers
Long-term relationships offer mutual benefits for Tenneco and its suppliers. One such supplier with decades of experience is Pridgeon & Clay, a metal stampings company based in Grand Rapids, Mich. Founded in 1948, it has grown into an international manufacturer with more than 1,000 employees. Since the 1950s, the company has been supplying us with a range of emission control components, such as flanges, heat and muffler shields and catalytic converter parts. More recently, Pridgeon & Clay has begun supplying ride control stampings to Tenneco.
Chief Executive Officer Robert E. Clay says our long working relationship has built a legacy of trust that feels like a partnership. “We feel confident in making investments in research and development that enhance the relationship by making us a more valuable supplier and providing Tenneco with the capability of bringing products to market more quickly and with more efficient and robust designs.”
The auger mixer assembly stands as an example. This product is an important component of Tenneco’s XNOx™ Selective Catalytic Reduction system, which significantly reduces NOx emissions to meet increasingly stringent diesel emission regulations around the globe. Built from a series of stampings, the assembly was developed jointly with Tenneco and an OEM customer.
“We have been able to invest in research facilities, such as test beds that simulate the conditions under which exhaust systems will operate," says Clay. "As a result, we can work closely with Tenneco on products that meet current and future market requirements.”
