LAKE FOREST, ILLINOIS, MAY 6, 2004 – Tenneco Automotive (NYSE: TEN) received Ford Motor Company's Silver World Excellence Award for its superior performance in 2003.

The World Excellence Awards provide annual recognition based on quality, cost and delivery performance. Forty-two suppliers from 16 countries won awards in various categories.

Tenneco Automotive received the Silver World Excellence Award for supplying Ford with exhaust systems from its Just-In-Time manufacturing facility at Saarlouis, Germany. The Silver Excellence Award recognizes suppliers that excel in quality, delivery and cost.
