Michael Clarke, Vice President Human Resources International, has overall responsibility for all HR matters within Europe, India and South America for original equipment emission control and ride control, as well as for the aftermarket. In January 2007, Mr. Clarke’s role further expanded to include the Australia and China regions. He has been recently promoted and appointed as deputy managing director for Tenneco’s joint venture operations with Futaba.
Mr. Clarke has the responsibility for implementing robust people engagement programs, succession planning, HR policies, compensation& benefits and developing employee relations. He also oversees recruitment, orientation, retention, and collective labor agreements. Mr. Clarke is an active member of the Board of Directors Compensation/Nominating/Governance Committee.

He joined Tenneco in 1999 as HR director for Europe original equipment ride control in Sint Truiden, Belgium.
Prior to Tenneco, Mr. Clarke held several senior HR positions with varying degrees of responsibility within BREED Technologies Inc., AlliedSignal SRS and Scottish Courage Brewing Limited, as well as a manufacturing position at Colgate Palmolive. He started his career in engineering/manufacturing at Delco Electronics Overseas Corporation.
Mr. Clarke has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering, as well as an MBA, from John Moore’s University in Liverpool, UK.
