Hari Nair, executive vice president and president, International, is responsible for managing Tenneco’s business operations and capitalizing on further growth opportunities in Europe, South America, India and Asia Pacific. Mr. Nair directs these businesses from Tenneco's European headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

Previously, Mr. Nair served as executive vice president and managing director for Tenneco’s business in Europe, South America and India. In this position, he led a turnaround of the company’s European business, posting consistent annual growth on all key metrics and significantly improving operational performance to growth the European business during an industry down cycle.

Before that, Mr. Nair was senior vice president and managing director, International for Tenneco, where he developed global alliances with Japanese partners. Mr. Nair was also managing director and general manager for Tenneco South America and managing director for Tenneco Asia, where he forged many of the joint ventures the company operates today.

Mr. Nair joined Tenneco Automotive in 1987 as manager of business planning, focusing on the company's early international expansion projects.

In 1989 he joined Case Corporation (at that time a Tenneco Inc. company) as manager of marketing and business development for the international business group and later became the group's manager of finance and operations. He returned to Tenneco Automotive in 1992 as director of the total quality management system and was subsequently named director of international business development, where he led the company's entry into India with the establishment of a ride control joint venture in 1994.

Before joining Tenneco, Mr. Nair was a senior financial analyst at General Motors Corporation and a plant manager for American Water Company.

Mr. Nair has a BS degree in Engineering from Bradley University and an MBA in Finance and International Business from the University of Notre Dame.
