Mr. Wardell joined Tenneco in May 2007 as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. He is responsible for managing the company's worldwide legal affairs including corporate governance.

Prior to joining Tenneco, Mr. Wardell was associated with Abbott Laboratories where he held several positions of increasing responsibility, most recently being named Associate General Counsel, Pharmaceutical Products Group Legal Operations in 2005. Before joining Abbott Laboratories, Mr. Wardell spent over ten years in the legal Department of Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, where he spent

six years living and working in London, England providing legal support to various business units in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Mr. Wardell started his legal career in Manhattan where he worked for four years as a New York County Assistant District Attorney under Robert Morgenthau.

Mr. Wardell is a 1982 graduate of Case Western Reserve Law School and has an AB degree from Princeton University.
