Davide Girelli Joins Tenneco as President of Powertrain Business

Davide GirelliTenneco announced today that Davide Girelli has joined the Company as executive vice president and president of the Powertrain business group, replacing Rainer Jueckstock who is retiring at the end of March. Girelli joins Tenneco after spending the past 12 years with BorgWarner, and will be based in Italy, reporting directly to CEO Jim Voss.  

“I’m very pleased to welcome Davide to Tenneco,” said Voss.   “He brings a strong manufacturing background and experience serving customers in the automotive and aerospace markets.  His skill set includes expertise leading transformation and change at diverse global organizations, and I expect him to be a strong addition to the leadership team both in terms of technical expertise, and a leadership style that contributes to the Tenneco culture.”

“I also want to congratulate Rainer on an outstanding 33-year career,” added Voss.  “He began working as an engineer for a small piston ring manufacturer in his hometown of Dresden, Germany, and rose through the ranks to become CEO of Federal-Mogul Powertrain in 2012 before its acquisition by Tenneco in 2018.  During his time leading the powertrain business, he has laid a solid foundation for its long-term success, and I wish him nothing but the best in his well-deserved retirement.” 

Most recently, Mr. Girelli served as vice president and president and general manager of Morse Systems, responsible for BorgWarner’s global Morse Systems business.  Prior to that, he held roles of increasing responsibility with BorgWarner, including president and GM of Fuel Injection Systems, VP and GM Turbo Systems Europe and South America, and VP and GM Europe and Asia for Morse Systems. 

Mr. Girelli has nearly 25 years of experience in the automotive and aerospace industries. Before joining BorgWarner, he worked in research and development and operations for several global companies including, ITT, Trelleborg and FiatAvio.
