Richard Dennis is a partner at American Industrial Partners (“AIP”), where he leads AIP’s investments in the automotive sector, as well as the firm’s credit opportunities strategy. Prior to joining AIP in 2015, he served as a senior analyst at Weiss Multi-Strategy Advisers, where he established the firm’s credit opportunities business. Previously he spent nine years at Apollo Global Management, where he was a principal and founding member of the Strategic Value Fund. Prior to that, he was an associate within Oaktree Capital Management’s Distressed Opportunities Fund. He began his career as an analyst in the industrials investment banking group at Salomon Smith Barney. Dennis graduated cum laude from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
