At Tenneco, we believe leadership is built, not born — and the desire to grow doesn’t wait for permission. That belief inspired the launch of Tenneco University (TENNU) in 2025.
Designed to embed our culture, The Tenneco Way, into how we operate and lead, TENNU is a rigorous, results-driven experience that empowers leaders and drives wins across every corner of our business. In partnership with Michigan State University (MSU) in Lansing, Mich., the program accelerates leadership by strengthening the mindset, skillset, and business acumen needed to elevate our people and our operations.
In its first year, TENNU graduated three senior-leader cohorts who returned to their sites ready to make the impossible happen. They sharpened their mindsets, elevated performance, and saw firsthand how our leaders drive our purpose and culture across Team Tenneco. Each cohort learns directly from our Executive Leadership Team, world-class MSU faculty, and industry experts — gaining an inside-out view of what “better than best-in-class” truly looks like.
We're continuing to expand TENNU to accelerate leadership at every level through programs like TENNU: NextUp for future plant managers and TENNU: S.T.A.R.S. (Strategic talent Accelerated Readiness) for emerging talent. With every cohort, we're embedding the Tenneco Mindset into our future leaders — pushing them to think boldly, perform relentlessly, and be ready to tackle challenges with Organizational Velocity and Tenacious Execution when it matters most.

Safety is non-negotiable at Tenneco – and we’ve got the recognition to prove it. At Apollo Global Management, Inc.'s 2024 ESG Awards, we took home the Performance in Responsible Stewardship-Employee Safety Award. Of 59 submissions, only four companies made the cut – and we’re proud to be among them!
