Tenneco Publishes 2025 Sustainability Report, Highlighting Progress In Safety, Energy Efficiency, and Supply Chain Performance
Northville, Mich., June 3, 2026 - Tenneco LLC (“Tenneco”), one of the world’s leading designers, manufacturers, and distributors of advanced mobility products for original equipment (OE) and aftermarket customers, has released its 2025 Sustainability Report. The annual report, Tenneco’s eighth to be published, details the company's performance across safety, environmental management, operational efficiency, and responsible business practices.
“At Tenneco, a key part of our purpose is to be the most trusted partner,” said Jim Voss, CEO of Tenneco. “Trust is earned by how we operate — on the plant floor, across the supply chain, with our customers and in the decisions we make every day. Sustainability is part of that standard. The progress reflected in this report comes from discipline, accountability and a continuous improvement mindset across our business.”
Highlights from the 2025 report include:
- Tenneco reduced its recordable incident rate by 33% compared to its 2019 baseline, and many facilities continued operating with long-standing records of zero recordable incidents, reflecting its continued focus on workplace safety and risk management.
- Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions intensity and energy intensity were both down 18% compared to the company’s 2019 baseline.
- An assessment of more than 1,300 suppliers as part of the company's sustainability engagement efforts was completed, continuing work across the value chain on greenhouse gas emissions reduction, responsible sourcing, and circular economy initiatives.
- Achievement of a CDP Climate Change Score of "B" and an EcoVadis Silver rating, placing Tenneco among the top 5% of companies rated.
The report also notes that approximately 75% of manufacturing waste was recycled during the reporting period and that 90% of manufacturing sites were certified to ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standards.
Tenneco’s approach to sustainability is grounded in The Tenneco Way — the culture that drives how the company operates, improves and delivers for customers. Through its People, Planet and Products framework, Tenneco applies that mindset to managing environmental impacts, strengthening governance, supporting customer sustainability priorities and building long-term business resilience.
