LAKE FOREST, ILLINOIS - FEBRUARY 16, 2001 - Tenneco Automotive (NYSE: TEN) announced today that Sivanandi Rajadurai, Tenneco Automotive's director of advanced converter development, has been named to the board of directors of the Manufacturers of Emission Controls Association (MECA). The new MECA board of directors was elected at the January 2001 meeting.

Dr. Rajadurai has been with Tenneco Automotive since 1996, serving most recently as the company's director of research for converter technology. He is a key technical contact for original equipment manufacturers, and directs research related to emission control technologies. He was awarded the company's Innovation Award in 1998 for validating low noble metal catalytic converters. Prior to joining Tenneco Automotive, Dr. Rajadurai worked as director of research at Cummins Engine, and held academic positions at the University of Notre Dame, and Loyola College, Madras India.
