LAKE FOREST, ILLINOIS, April 18, 2002 - Tenneco Automotive received Ford Motor Company’s Silver World Excellence Award, recognizing the company as one of its top suppliers in the world for 2001 performance.

Carlos Mazzorin, Ford Motor Company’s group vice president of Asia Pacific Operations, South American Operations and Global Purchasing, said, "Congratulations to Tenneco Automotive. You are one of Ford’s most valuable partners. Without your extraordinary contributions, we could not have achieved many of our goals in 2001."

The World Excellence Award provides annual recognition based on quality, cost and delivery metrics jointly developed by Ford and its suppliers. Forty-two suppliers from 15 countries won awards in various categories. The Silver Award is given to the business units of suppliers that stand out in quality and delivery or quality and cost. Tenneco Automotive was recognized for its quality and delivery in supplying exhaust systems to Ford in Europe.
