Company Retains New York Stock Exchange Listing

Lake Forest, Illinois, February 29, 2008 – Tenneco Inc. (NYSE: TEN) today announced plans to withdraw the listing of its common stock from the London Stock Exchange, effective March 31, 2008. Tenneco’s common stock will continue to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange and the Chicago Stock Exchange.

Tenneco has decided to withdraw its listing from the London Stock Exchange because of the limited trading of its common shares on the London Stock Exchange and to reduce administrative costs inherent with multiple listings. Tenneco does not believe that withdrawing its listing from the London Stock Exchange will have any impact on the liquidity of its stock.
