Timothy Jackson Named Senior Vice President of Global Technology for Tenneco Automotive

LAKE FOREST, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 9, 2000--Tenneco Automotive (NYSE:TEN) today announced that Timothy Jackson has been appointed to the newly created position of Senior Vice President Global Technology. In this new role, Jackson will have global responsibility for designing products for ease of manufacture and for driving standardization in all engineering and manufacturing processes. He will also direct the company's implementation of Six Sigma worldwide.

Jackson, who had been Senior Vice President of the company's North America Original Equipment business unit, will continue to report to Mark Frissora, Chairman and CEO of Tenneco Automotive. He will continue to manage the manufacturing and engineering functions for the North American Original Equipment business unit. Frissora will oversee the commercial and support functions of the unit on an interim basis.

Jackson joined Tenneco Automotive in 1999 as Senior Vice President North American Original Equipment. Before joining Tenneco, he was with ITT Industries where he was President of the Fluid Handling Systems Division. Prior to ITT Industries, he served in senior management positions at BF Goodrich Aerospace and General Motors Corporation. He holds a BSME degree from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and a Master's in manufacturing management from GMI Engineering and Management Institute.
