Tenneco Automotive Forms New International Unit
Lake Forest, Illinois, December 21, 2000 – Tenneco Automotive (NYSE: TEN) today announced the realignment of its Japanese original equipment business operations by integrating its former international vehicle and emerging market units into a new international group. As part of this reorganization, Hari Nair was named senior vice president and managing director, Tenneco Automotive International, and Jeff Jarrell was appointed vice president, Japanese original equipment business. The reorganization and leadership changes are effective immediately.
As head of the new strategic business unit, Nair will direct all Japanese original equipment business operations worldwide and continue to manage Tenneco Automotive’s operations in Asia and South America. Jarrell will be responsible for the global management of all Japanese original equipment programs across Tenneco Automotive’s business units. He will also oversee the company’s strategic alliances with two Japanese companies: Futaba Industrial Co. Ltd. and Tokico Ltd.

Nair joined Tenneco Automotive in 1987 and has served as managing director of Asian operations, based in Singapore, and most recently was vice president and managing director, South America/Asia. Nair has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Bradley University, a master’s in business administration in finance and international business from the University of Notre Dame, and has completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University Business School. He continues to report to Frissora.
Jarrell joined Tenneco Automotive’s Walker original equipment division in 1981 and has held a series of sales engineering and management positions. In recent years, he has concentrated on the company’s Asian vehicle manufacturing customers and most recently served as business unit director of Tenneco Automotive’s international vehicle group. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Spring Arbor College and graduated from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management’s Executive Development Program. Jarrell will report to Nair.
