Tenneco Automotive Honored By General Motors As A 2003 Supplier Of The Year

LAKE FOREST, ILLINOIS, APRIL 5, 2004 - Tenneco Automotive (NYSE: TEN) was named as a General Motors Supplier of the Year for its overall business performance in supplying GM. The company received the award during ceremonies in Prague, Czech Republic on April 3.

The GM Supplier of the Year Award began as a global program in 1992. Award winners are selected by a global team of executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics who base their decision on supplier performance in quality, service, technology and price. This year, General Motors honored 77 suppliers for their excellence throughout 2003.

General Motors selected Tenneco Automotive as one of its top suppliers for the company's performance in supplying ride control components, primarily shock absorbers and struts. The company was recognized for delivering high quality products, responding to customer needs quickly and effectively, and generating cost efficiencies.
