LAKE FOREST, IL (March 10, 2010) – Tenneco Inc. (NYSE: TEN) announced today that Richard P. Schneider, senior vice president, global administration, will retire April 1, 2010, after more than 16 years with the corporation. The company also announced that Barbara A. Kluth has been promoted to vice president, global human resources.

 

Schneider, 63, has been responsible for developing and implementing human resources (HR) programs and policies globally for Tenneco since 1998. Additionally, he oversees the company’s environmental, health and safety function worldwide. He joined Tenneco in 1994 as vice president, human resources, Tenneco Automotive, which at that time was a division of the old Tenneco Inc.

Kluth, 53, will assume Schneider’s current responsibilities. She will report to Sherrill and join the company’s senior management team. Since 2001, Kluth has served as executive director, HR, North America, providing HR leadership and support to all corporate functional groups. She joined Tenneco 25 years ago and has held a number of positions with increasing responsibilities.
